Paddling from Namdal Kajakklubb

Namdal Kajakklubb at the Norsk Sagbruksmuseet

It was a great opportunity on the last day to get a short paddle out of Namsos itself. While we had visited the club facilities earlier in the week, it was special to put-in at the club itself. A short paddle out and around Kvaholmen Island – round trip 4.5nm.

Four of us gathered at the clubhouse and geared up in our borrowed kayaks for the last time. While the weather was a bit mixed, with some solid rain for the return leg, it was still a lovely paddle and great to see Namsos from the sea.

Getting everything cleared, sorted and stowed back into the clubhouse was a nice close out of our kayaking adventure in Norway.

It was alas, time to gather at Bodil & Asle’s command centre for the last time! A great celebration of renewed & new friendships and a week of incredible paddling. We are indebted to our hosts and look forward to getting the opportunity to return the favour.

A final celebratory meal with the Irish & Norwegian Crews
